by your pals atCocoCut

Welcome to the place for answers! We get a lot of questions about our video downloader, so we put them all in one spot. If you're wondering about something, chances are you'll find the answer right here.

The Big Picture

So, what's the deal with CocoCut?

Think of CocoCut as your magic wand for web videos. It's a browser extension for Chrome and Edge that lets you download videos and audio from pretty much anywhere. It even handles tricky streaming formats like HLS and M3U8.

Is it actually free? Like, for real?

Yes, for real! CocoCut is 100% free. No subscriptions, no watermarks, no hidden fees. Download as much as you want — we won't mind. We also offer an optional premium plan if you want extra features like faster downloads and priority support.

What browsers can I use CocoCut on?

CocoCut works best on Google Chrome (version 70+) and Microsoft Edge (version 79+). It also runs on other Chromium-based browsers like Brave and Vivaldi, but Chrome users get the full experience with all our features.

Do I need to be a computer genius to use it?

Not at all! If you can click a mouse, you can use CocoCut. It's all self-contained in the extension — no extra software or complicated setup. Just install and go.

Help! My CocoCut icon vanished!

Don't panic! It's probably just hiding. Click the puzzle piece icon (in Chrome) or the three dots (in Edge) in your toolbar. Find CocoCut in the list and click the pin icon to keep it visible.

It's not finding any videos! What gives?

Sometimes videos are tricky. Try these tips:

Let's Talk Features

What kinds of files can I download?

Almost everything! We support popular formats like MP4, WebM, and MOV for video, and MP3, AAC, and WAV for audio. We even handle streaming formats like HLS and M3U8. For the full list, check out ourSupported Formatspage.

Will my downloads look good?

Absolutely! CocoCut downloads videos in the best quality available, up to 4K and beyond. What you see is what you get — no fuzzy, pixelated videos here.

What's this "Recording Mode" I keep hearing about?

That's our secret weapon! For videos that are hard to detect, Recording Mode captures the video as it plays on your screen. It's a bit slower, but it works for tricky sites.

Privacy & Safety (The Serious Stuff)

Are you spying on me?

Heck no! Your privacy matters to us. All the downloading happens right on your computer. We don't see your videos, track your browsing history, or store any of your data. Period. You can read ourPrivacy Policyfor more details.

Is it safe to use?

Totally. We're officially listed on the Chrome and Edge stores, which means we've passed their security checks. We're just here to help you download videos, not to cause trouble.

When Things Go Wrong

My downloads are taking forever!

Slow downloads are frustrating. Try these tips:

Can I download a whole playlist at once?

Not yet, but we're working on it! Playlist downloading is one of our most requested features. In the meantime, our other product,CocoFetch, already supports playlist downloads.

What about on my phone?

Sadly, browser extensions don't work well on mobile devices. For now, CocoCut is only for desktop browsers. But we're thinking about a mobile app for the future!

Keeping in Touch

How do I get updates?

You don't have to do anything! Your browser will automatically update CocoCut whenever we release a new version with bug fixes or new features.
